    ## Advisor Style & Mentorship
He is a pretty hands-off advisor in my experience. He will not micro-manage you (I think this is a good thing). He is incredibly knowledgeable and helpful when you come to him for advice or guidance on technical topics. I think he is fair and he is certainly efficient. There is no time wasted. He maintains a very professional relationship with his students, but will be incredibly supportive when it counts.
    ## Expectations for PhD Students
I think his expectations are fair, but if you work on one of his funded projects I think some people find it stressful. This may be the nature of some of the industry funded projects and the pace at which they progress though.
    ## Funding & Support
He's got tons of money. And I have worked with him for a couple years now not funded on any of his projects and he is always quite confident that I'll not be stranded without pay the next semester. He has helped me find multiple research opportunities to work on that fit my interests and career goals. He might not always be aware of the kind of support you need, but if you tell him/ask for support you need, I think he will be very responsive.
    ## Research
This lab produces excellent quality work. The research this group does is not trivial, but you'll learn a lot.
    ## Lab Culture
Its a pretty geeky group, but they're great. Everyone is a little fascinated by who Adam is really because he keeps his personal life very seperate from his lab life (which is a good thing I think). I think it also speaks highly of him that they want to know him better. I would say its a good group and you'll be treated fairly.

    Yes, I recommend this PI.
